Swimming pool

Greene Hills offers a 25 meter pool boasting both a diving board and a slide. Fun for the whole family! There is also a wading pool available for younger members. All Greene Hills lifeguards are Red Cross certified and remain on duty during all business hours.

The Pool Area is open to members and guests from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day each year. During swim season, pool staff may be contacted by calling the pool deck area at (434) 985-7328.

To be left unaccompanied inside the pool area fence or in the diving area, all children under the age of 13 must pass a swimming proficiency test.

Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a person 13 years of age or older whose custody they remain in at all times. Those acting as caregivers may purchase a monthly caregiver’s pass for per month. Caregiver passes are available in the Golf Shop during the pool season (May-September.)

Pool Guest Fees

Guests may only use the pool 2 times per month. Caregiver Pass: per month. Immediate family (parent, brother, sister) cannot be considered as caregivers.

Friday-Saturday | 10:00 am – 8:00 p.m.

The pool closes at 3:00 p.m. on days that the Greene Hills Gators host JSL swim meets.

Coaching Staff (Welcome Letter from Coaching Staff)

 

Patrick Kibler, Head Coach

Under the direction of head coach, Patrick Kibler, Greene Hills Swim Club looks forward to another exciting season of fun and friendly competition. Patrick will rejoin the Greene Hills Team for his 14th year of coaching and his 6th as Head Coach at Greene Hills. Patrick has also coached for the William Monroe High School Swim Team and is current head coach of BASS, a local year round swim team. He was was an outstanding swimmer for Greene Hills for many years, placing in the top 3 in the league. In high school, he was a Jefferson District HS Champion and Virginia State High School finalist in breaststroke, freestyle, and IM. Patrick is a WMHS record holder in several events and was a zones qualifier in USA Swimming. He graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Virginia where he swam on the club team. He currently works with his wife, Sylvia, as a photographer. They reside in Stanardsville with their six children.

Bethany Kennon

Bethany previously coached at ACAC and was an assistant coach for Randolph College in 2017. She is currently a lead swim coach at Boars Head Resort (BASS) and is excited to be with the gators! Bethany swam for Liberty University from 2011-2014 and led the team to a conference championship in 2014 in just its fourth year of existence. Among her accolades are being awarded the NCAA’s CCSA Woman of the Year Award and Liberty Athletic’ Dr. Jerry Falwell Leadership Award. She earned a degree in Sports Management from Liberty and resides in Greene County with her husband Wade and their three children.

Wade Kennon

Wade grew up playing golf, swimming on the swim team, and lifeguarding at Greene Hills Club. After high school he went Liberty University and studied engineering. While at Liberty Wade continued to work as a lifeguard. One day after a Liberty Swim Team practice, he met his wife Bethany, who has led him into the deep end of the sport of swimming. Since then, Wade has grown a love for the sport and has been witness to glory and disappointment. In recent years he has coached at ACAC but is excited to be back home with the Greene Hills Gators.

Jonny Kibler

Jonny is rejoining the Greene Hills coaching staff! Jonny was an exceptional swimmer in his youth, swimming for Greene Hills as well as BASS. He consistently placed in the top 3 in the Jefferson Swim League, was a high school state qualifier and was a zones qualifier for USA swimming. After high school, Jonny swam for the James Madison University swim team where he graduated with a degree in psychology. He currently resides in Greene County with his wife and two children.

Jell Hill

Coach Jen Hill has been around swimming pools for many years. As a swimmer, she competed for Titusville YMCA, Titusville High School, and Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. Awards included NCAA DIII All American (5 times – relays) and Female Athlete of the Year at Allegheny College. Additionally, Coach Jen has several active relay records at Titusville High School. Coach Jen is currently an assistant with BASS and an assistant coach with William Monroe High School. She loves being around water in general (boating and fishing too!) and enjoys working with young swimmers.

Ryan Taylor

Ryan coached with the Gators last year and is back after his first year of college! Ryan swam for the Greene Hills gators in his youth and currently swims for Gardner Webb University. In high school he was a 4-time high school state finalist, was a member of the Virginia Eastern zones team and qualified in USA swimming for winter junior nationals and futures.

Everyone at Greene Hills is excited to have Patrick and his staff back as our coaches for the season. They all bring their excellent swimming experiences, instruction, and enthusiasm to the Gators!
